RUN FOR LIFE<\/span><\/h1>\n

Orizontas Association<\/strong>, in the context of its ongoing contribution to children and adults suffering from cancer or other serious illnesses, is undertaking a new, substantial initiative with a deeply humanitarian purpose.<\/p>\n

Currently, our Association has set as its goal the raising funds for the purchase of a transplant storage tank<\/strong> for the Hematology Clinic of the University Hospital of Heraklion<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This specific purchase will contribute decisively to upgrading the process of graft collection and storage<\/strong>, enhancing the effectiveness of autologous transplants<\/strong> in patients with lymphoma and other hematological malignancies<\/strong>, for which autologous transplantation is the only way to treat<\/strong>. This is an life investment<\/strong>, which will offer hundreds of patients a second chance at life<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

At the center of this action is Michalis Chrysocherakis<\/strong>, secretary of the Board of Directors of “Orizont” and founding member of the Association’s sports club.
\nWith a rich volunteer and athletic career \u2014 35 Marathons<\/strong> around the world, over 60 Half Marathons<\/strong> and dozens of road races with the colors of “Orizont” and the slogan “RACE FOR LIFE”<\/strong> \u2014 Michalis will run on November 2, 2025<\/strong> in the New York Marathon<\/strong>, covering all his expenses himself and dedicating his participation to raising money<\/strong> for the above purpose.<\/p>\n

This effort, a personal dream that turns into a collective mission<\/strong>, is a call to all of us to help in a life’s work.<\/p>\n
