The educational programs of \u201cOrizontas\u201d are based on the three pillars of information, awareness, and action, and are aligned with the Ministry of Education\u2019s \u201cSkills Workshops\u201d and \u201cActive Citizenship Actions.\u201d The programs we offer are the following:<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"training-par\">\u201cJourney to the Land of Sadness\u201d<\/h4>\n<p class=\"training-par\">An interactive storytelling program with empathy as its main objective, accompanied by a creative workshop featuring students\u2019 artwork. (For Kindergarten and 1st\u20132nd Grade Primary School students)<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"training-par\">\u201cEftychis Travels\u201d<\/h4>\n<p class=\"training-par\">An educational program approved by the Ministry of Education. It aims to strengthen the connection between school and society while empowering students on a personal level. The program familiarizes children with life events, helping them develop resilience and coping mechanisms for future challenges while discovering optimism, solidarity, and selfless giving. It is based on the children&#8217;s book <em>\u201cEftychis and the Rainbow\u201d<\/em> by author Evdokia Skordala-Kakatsaki and was designed by educator Christina Tzompanaki. (For Kindergarten and 1st\u20132nd Grade Primary School students)<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"training-par\">\u201cReading for Awareness\u201d<\/h4>\n<p class=\"training-par\">Promoting the values of volunteerism, empathy, and social contribution through the reading of carefully selected books, combined with a creative workshop showcasing students\u2019 artistic work. (For 3rd\u20134th Grade Primary School students)<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"training-par\">\u201cLearning About Volunteerism\u201d \u2013 \u201cSports &amp; Volunteerism\u201d<\/h4>\n<p class=\"training-par\">An interactive program designed to raise students\u2019 awareness of volunteerism. Participants become familiar with the work of \u201cOrizontas,\u201d the organization of sporting events, and the participation of its volunteers in athletic activities under the Association\u2019s colors, promoting the message: <strong>\u201cRacing for Life.\u201d<\/strong> (For 5th\u20136th Grade Primary School students, 1st\u20133rd Grade Middle School students, and 1st\u20132nd Grade High School students)<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"training-par\">\u201cBecome a Bone Marrow Donor\u201d<\/h4>\n<p class=\"training-par\">A program that raises awareness about volunteerism while informing students about the importance of bone marrow donation, the registration process for becoming a volunteer donor, and the stem cell donation procedure. (For 3rd Grade High School students)<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"training-par\">Additional Activities for School Communities<\/h3>\n<h4 class=\"training-par\">\u201cSolidarity Creations\u201d<\/h4>\n<p class=\"training-par\">A creative workshop and school bazaar where students create artistic works to support volunteer initiatives and promote solidarity through their school&#8217;s fundraising events. (For Primary School students)<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"training-par\">\u201cBone Marrow Donation Awareness Campaign\u201d<\/h4>\n<p class=\"training-par\">One-day awareness events focusing on the importance of bone marrow donation and the registration of volunteer donors. These programs are interactive and aim at informing and making pupils aware from a very young age to the concept of volunteering. By completing the program successfully, children will go into action and &#8220;officially&#8221; become volunteers!<\/p>\n<p>The programs are carried out by teachers and volunteers of our Association and are as follows:<br \/>\n&#8220;The Trip to the Sorrowful Country&#8221; (for pre-school and preschool children): in our mind, we travel to the &#8220;sad village&#8221; and we share our imagination in a number of sad situations for which we are called to resolve. Through these situations, children discover empathy, sensitivity, collaboration, teamwork, solidarity. The scenario is spontaneous and adjusts to current events. The presentation is completed with paintings, group play and children&#8217;s songs. &#8211; &#8220;Eftihis and the Rainbow&#8221;, based on the book by the writer Evdokia Skordala-Kakatsaki (for first-school children). Through the story of the bear Eftihis, children are confronted with the concept of childhood cancer and emotions which accompany him and discover optimism, solidarity and selfless offering.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Update-Sensitization-Action&#8221; is the magic triptych for the children of the upper classes of Primary School. On the basis of a questionnaire that is given to the beginning in order to retrieve the existing knowledge and to cause concern, a discussion follows. The children, after being informed, are sensitized and take on themselves to sensitize the people around them and finally go into action, thus implementing the final goal of the program.
